If it feels wet at the setpoint, we check runtime, airflow, charge, and the drain. A gadget is not the first step.

A pan that overflows or a drain that backs up feeds the smell. Stop the water before you buy a purifier.

Overcooling a Port St. Lucie house to chase humidity just runs the system harder. We’d rather find why it isn’t drying.
The order of operations
Stop the water. Confirm the coil and blower are clean enough to move air. Then talk about filtration and whether a dehumidifier belongs in the plan. A media filter that starves an already weak return makes the house worse.
Seasonal homes and tightly renovated houses hold moisture even when the equipment is healthy. That is a different recommendation than a waterfront condo with a salted coil.
